Starting the Final Task

    My name is Hannah Ezammudeen, a current 11th grader. I am taking AICE Media Studies and AICE Music this year because I wanted to see how the music industry ties into the filming Industry. I enjoy various types of films and music such as timepieces and soundtracks to these movies. I also enjoy reading novels on murder mysteries and romance on my spare time. Throughout this course, I have gained much knowledge on the directing and editing portion of the filming industry. However, I hope to gain experience in the team building aspect of movie production. In this upcoming AICE Media filming project, myself and my peers will be producing a movie intro in 2 minutes. Unlike the previous projects, where I continuously worked alone, I will be working with 3 other students. My group members name's are Judith Reyes, Jocelyn Colon, and Raquel Lopez, which are all in the same grade as myself. Seeing that I have been working by myself in past assignments, I believe that this will be a new experience and have many challenges. The main challenge we will be facing is meeting together in a public and private space while being in a pandemic. We will be taking precautions before meeting face to face to film our scenes. I hope that within this group, tasks will get done faster and be more efficient. Being a part of a new group will allow for reminders to get blogs done, causing a more efficient work experience. With my partners having their own ideas and thoughts, we will be able to hit a range of concepts and ideas outside of our own minds. There will also be challenges in agreeing to one specific idea or point seeing that there are contradicting ways of interpreting them. Also, since we are working in a group, our blogs will hold similar ideas and events throughout them. Even though they are our individual ideas, they will be put together to create one blog. Although, some blogs will only hold similar ideas and not be completely the same, since we are working in a group. Overall, I hope to achieve new perspectives and knowledge in the filming industry as well as the music industry.

  When our group was conducting research, we focused on a website called Art of the Title. We decided to view and research this website because it would further our knowledge in the opening credit scenes and help us with our upcoming project. In this website, it describes in words and pictures what a movie’s opening sequence and scenes are. We were able to see opening sequences of various film genres and movies, specifically thriller. Our group also saw that the opening sequences of the thriller movies were from different eras. This meant that we could see how the opening scenes evolved over time to add to the depth of the movie or film. Introduction to the Music Video Project

For this music video project, I have decided to work by myself and not with multiple people. I do believe that I will excel in this way by not having anything holding me back as I have learned with previous assignments. Being in a pandemic, for my safety and others, it is important to keep up the social distancing and have no large gatherings. Although, I will have additional help for my film through close family. I believe that I will get this project done efficiently if I only rely on myself and my production skills. This way I am able to hold myself accountable for anything that might occur, in my favor or not. I will also be able to be more creative in my work which would be very difficult in a group of conflicting ideas. I also hope to further my production skills and become more familiar with the filming industry by doing this project. Editing Blog: Testing Filters and Adjusters

   As I finished filming, I began editing and piecing my videos, clips, and audios together. After airdropping the video clips from my phone to the laptop, I began importing the first half of the music video into iMovie. This took a little bit of time considering how long each file was. Some of my clips were a little longer than what I anticipated when shooting. I needed to trim them down to 5 seconds or less in order for the clips to fit the time frame. Some scenes were extremely longer meaning that I needed to trash them all together and film another day. I attempted to either slow down or speed up clips so that they could fit in, but they looked too awkward and out of place. I then added the 1 minute audio of the song I chose and placed it over the clips. I made sure to silent and mute every clip I had so that the music could be clearly heard and not covered by any noises in the videos.
