Filming Time Gap
Our group has not filmed since our last filming day, but we have set a date. We are planning on filming this weekend since everyone will be available. Also, since one group member had an emergency, which could not be ignored, we had to push back our filming. With this huge gap in filming times, I found an abundance of time to do other work and further prepare for the scheduled filming date. Since this is last month before exam month, I spent majority of my time prepping for other AICE exams and AP tests. Along with this, I also prepped further by asking group members more questions on editing. I asked my group members for their opinion on where each title and name should be on each scene. As well as what filters looked better on certain scenes. Music was also another big decision for our group, but this time on placement. I also asked my group members if the music should begin at the beginning of the opening sequence or in the middle, which is what we previously agreed on. We all agreed to keep the music in the middle of the sequence to increase tension, but also leave room for concern and suspense. I also asked for their opinion on if the music should fade into the scene and fade out of the last scene or if it should just abruptly start and end. There was some controversy, but we all agreed that this decision could not be made until all and every scene was filmed and ready for editing. Moreover, I focused on reviewing essays and previous work I had done for the AICE Media class at the beginning of the year. I reviewed how to write specific essays for this class, case studies, and time management. I wrote flash cards on AICE words so that I could better prepare myself for the upcoming exams. I also went over CAMS, editing, mise-en-scene, and sound terminology flash cards. This will also help me when I am filming so that I can correctly tell the actors what I am doing and not use unclear directions. During this time gap between filming times, I have found myself gaining more knowledge and understanding difficult concepts. This way I was able to review how to use different case studies for upcoming use. A huge time in between filming did have many benefits as well as limitations.
