Intro to Media Studies

     Howdy! My name is Hannah Ezammudeen and I'm a junior. I've lived in Florida all my life with occasional trips to Georgia to visit my mom. In school, most, if not all, of my time is spent in the band room. I've been playing Clarissa, my clarinet, for over 9 years now. Playing for almost 9 years made my love and passion for music take off. It's one of my dreams to play for a movie soundtrack. My love for the composition of soundtracks is one of the reasons I'm taking this class. I am also taking AICE Music. I wanted to see how the composition aspect of AICE Music and the filming of AICE Media Studies brings movies and films to life. For the other reason, I just needed the credit. After this pandemic passes, I hope to play for solo and ensemble judging in the spring. I've never auditioned or gotten a rating for playing by myself so it's kind of nerve-racking. Last year, my ceramics teacher got me interested in ceramics and pottery. My most favorite piece that I made in class was an octopus with the head a pug that also functioned as a whistle. It's one of my most "unique" creations. I started taking a ceramics class because I love building and putting things together. I also enjoy mystery, murder novels, playing video games and jump roping on my free time. All three help me relieve stress or distract me from problems. I can get sucked in at any point and time and not stop. Same with movies. I will normally watch about 3 movies a week, depending on how busy I am during that week. My favorite types of movies would be animated horror, timepieces, and action. Well, that's all for now!

Introduction to the Music Video Project

For this music video project, I have decided to work by myself and not with multiple people. I do believe that I will excel in this way by not having anything holding me back as I have learned with previous assignments. Being in a pandemic, for my safety and others, it is important to keep up the social distancing and have no large gatherings. Although, I will have additional help for my film through close family. I believe that I will get this project done efficiently if I only rely on myself and my production skills. This way I am able to hold myself accountable for anything that might occur, in my favor or not. I will also be able to be more creative in my work which would be very difficult in a group of conflicting ideas. I also hope to further my production skills and become more familiar with the filming industry by doing this project. Title Research: Final Destination

       What titles are displayed during the opening sequences? The thriller film Final Destination, from Art of the Titles, initializes by first displaying the title of the film. Then proceeds to display the names of the cast and crew, producers, and the studios. Such names include costume designer, director of photography, production designer, and so on.       What images are prioritized in the opening sequence? Final Destination is a thriller franchise. Most or if not all their opening sequences contain very dark, aggressive, sinister images. Images  prioritized in the opening sequence are spooky like toys staring directly to the screen. Other images of skull heads are also shown. Title Research: Shirley

  With the use of the website Art of the Title, we were able to come across the film Shirley, a thriller movie. The thriller film Shirley begins with the jobs and occupants’ names. Following these important names, the name Shirley appears in cursive letters with a black screen behind it. There is only one main image priority during the opening sequence seeing that it is one continuous shot. This shot is a slow zoom into a woman and man dancing to music in a house. It shows a bond between both characters and establishes a relationship. Since the shot is in low key lighting and is set at night time, it shows a negative connotation while making the audience feel uneasy and off putting. Although, when the camera begins to get closer to the house window, the light inside begins to get brighter. This introduces a new, positive connotation, different than the previous one.
