Introduction to the Music Video Project
For this music video project, I have decided to work by myself and not with multiple people. I do believe that I will excel in this way by not having anything holding me back as I have learned with previous assignments. Being in a pandemic, for my safety and others, it is important to keep up the social distancing and have no large gatherings. Although, I will have additional help for my film through close family. I believe that I will get this project done efficiently if I only rely on myself and my production skills. This way I am able to hold myself accountable for anything that might occur, in my favor or not. I will also be able to be more creative in my work which would be very difficult in a group of conflicting ideas. I also hope to further my production skills and become more familiar with the filming industry by doing this project. My time management skills will also improve from my last project where I was slightly unfamiliar with how fast paced and quick time goes by when you are working. Moving forward, the song I am choosing is Wonderful Life performed by Zendaya from the movie Smallfoot. I chose this song because I already had an idea of what the scenes were going to look like in my music video. I wrote down a couple of ideas for themes, but came to one theme I thoroughly enjoyed. I knew that I wanted my music video to be about curiosity and time. I searched through multiple playlists on my phone and narrowed it down to the song I chose. I came to the conclusion that the song I chose closely resembles the feeling that I am trying to portray. The song is about a girl telling her friend that being full of wonder makes a wonderful life. It portrays a strong definition of life by saying that there is more life beyond what you know or are used to. It also shows how she believes that her friend needs to look deeper in his life and not only the surface. Elaborating that asking questions and researching new things is what makes life wonderful. I love this song because it shows ones true emotions in finding themselves through curiosity and wonder. That exploring is only the beginning of finding ones self.
