 1. How does your product use or challenge conventions and how does it represent social groups or issues?     Throughout the commercial, consistency was a major part. There was only one character or actor in the commercial which was the advertiser and salesperson. The actor's wardrobe was casual, yet business like. This would allow the audience to connect with the actor creating a trusting bond making the watcher buy the product. The specific setting of a white background and white lighting was also needed in order for the product to pop. This allows the audience to clearly see the product and make them focus on what the creator wants them to. Title Research: Art of the Title Website

  When our group was conducting research, we focused on a website called Art of the Title. We decided to view and research this website because it would further our knowledge in the opening credit scenes and help us with our upcoming project. In this website, it describes in words and pictures what a movie’s opening sequence and scenes are. We were able to see opening sequences of various film genres and movies, specifically thriller. Our group also saw that the opening sequences of the thriller movies were from different eras. This meant that we could see how the opening scenes evolved over time to add to the depth of the movie or film. We could also see how different directors of various films had different visions for their opening sequence. For example, one director took the title of the film literally, while another director focused on the editing portion. Planning to FIlm

     This upcoming project of an original movie opening scene will be the most time consuming Media Studies project that I have encountered during this school year. Seeing that this will also be my first time working with a group of people, it will be a new experience with many challenges. The final product of this project is not due until a month from now. Therefore, my group and I will be able to take our time with filming and editing the opening scene of our movie. We have decided to not start filming, but rather wait until all of us can set dates for filming. We will be able to plan out our filming days so that everyone can show up and get the job done. Also, since we are in a pandemic, it is harder to plan accordingly for a large group of people. Making sure everyone can show up at the same time will be a great challenge that we will face.
