Finalizing Outfits and Actors

This is my last blog before starting the filming portion of the opening sequence with my group. I am prepping and planning with my group to make sure what we need to get done, gets done. Our initial problem was finalizing who was playing each role. Seeing that there are 3 characters, but 4 of us in a group, one person was not going to physically be in the group; this person was me. We needed to finalize the actors and who was playing each role in our film. I was going to be the director and main person filming the acting scenes throughout the film. Raquel Lopez is going to be the main character who is a saddened teenage helping her mother. Along with this, Judith Reyes will be acting as the mother and Jocelyn Colon will be acting as the new internet friend. We then moved on to the outfit and costume portion of our film. I wanted the mother to be either be wearing a long skirt or dress with perfect hair. This would show that the mother does not see evil in what she is doing to another mother's child, but rather the good and the purity of her actions. I took inspiration from various movies such as Tangled and Serial Mom. While her child was to be in an average, messy even, attire that was composed of jeans and a hoodie. This would show the character's mental state and how she sees herself as not perfect, but ashamed of what her mother has made her do. The internet friend would be in jeans, nice shirt, and sneakers with a nice smile. This would show how open minded and comfortable the character is with the world. It would also bring out the friendliness and likeness of the character, making the audience create a bond with her. As we finalized our preparations, I made sure that every group member had the correct address for the park that we were filming at. We also scheduled a time to meet and what to bring incase of an emergency. I believe that we are thoroughly prepared for our first filming day and it will be successful and fun. We hope to film all of our park scenes and get the job done quickly.

I do believe that I will excel in this way by not having anything holding me back as I have learned with previous assignments. Title Research: Final Destination

       What titles are displayed during the opening sequences? The thriller film Final Destination, from Art of the Titles, initializes by first displaying the title of the film. Then proceeds to display the names of the cast and crew, producers, and the studios. Such names include costume designer, director of photography, production designer, and so on.       What images are prioritized in the opening sequence? Final Destination is a thriller franchise. Most or if not all their opening sequences contain very dark, aggressive, sinister images. Images  prioritized in the opening sequence are spooky like toys staring directly to the screen. Other images of skull heads are also shown. Title Research: Shirley

  With the use of the website Art of the Title, we were able to come across the film Shirley, a thriller movie. The thriller film Shirley begins with the jobs and occupants’ names. Following these important names, the name Shirley appears in cursive letters with a black screen behind it. There is only one main image priority during the opening sequence seeing that it is one continuous shot. This shot is a slow zoom into a woman and man dancing to music in a house. It shows a bond between both characters and establishes a relationship. Since the shot is in low key lighting and is set at night time, it shows a negative connotation while making the audience feel uneasy and off putting. Although, when the camera begins to get closer to the house window, the light inside begins to get brighter. This introduces a new, positive connotation, different than the previous one.
