Final Task: Mother

Looking back on the final task, I am grateful that I was able to work with a group. I was able to learn much more about editing through them and through the research we all did. Our growth in filming and editing is becoming more clear as we end the year with this project. Although we did run into some problems while filming, we were able to work everything out and have a final result that we are happy with. I hope you enjoy.

Title Research: Along Came a Spider

While researching title sequences, we discovered the movie Along Came a Spider on the Watch the Titles website. As an intriguing suspense-thriller from 2001, it caught our eyes.  During the opening sequence, the film studio, production company, first-billed actors, the movie name, casting directors, music supervisors, costume designer, and editors. The titles were introduced gradually, with a single letter crawling to the middle of the screen, as if it were a spider gliding down a thread. The rest of the letters in the titles were soon revealed. This process repeats until all the names are shown on the screen one at a time.  There are little to no explicit images shown in the opening. For almost the entire sequence, the background was just a series of constantly flickering green and blue lights. Filming Blog: Bubbling Sounds and White Lighting

Sunday, November 1st, is the day I started and finished the filming part of my commercial. Since the sun was not entirely out, myself and my sister filmed that shots that did not need the bright lighting first. I had to adjust the time between takes to wait for when the sun was at its brightest. First, I had to move my desk in front of a plan wall in my house. We did use white lightbulbs in lamps to achieve a clear, crispy shot and lighting that could bounce off the plain wall. Although, we did have trouble shooting with the shadows behind me. My first shot was a picture of the beginning card before the commercial began. I positioned the lighting to where I needed it, in front of the camera and me. While I was taking this picture, water was boiling on the stove to produce the bubbling sound. Although, while I was listening to the recording of the boiling water, it sounded similar to rain and not that of bubbling. Planning for My Music Video

Song Title:  The song I will be doing is Wonderful Life by Zendaya from the movie Smallfoot. The character singing the song is a yeti who is on top of a mountain curious about the humans beneath it on the ground. The main message of the song is that asking questions and being curious about the world around you is what makes a wonderful life. Props:  There will be multiple props in my music video because there will be multiple locations. Such as a duffle bag, a cereal bowl, a bike and many more. Costumes:  There will either be two or three outfit changes in the video depending on where the actor will be going. At first the character will be wearing a strict, business type attire. They will then switch into an all black outfit with a black beanie and duffle bag or a flowy dress that shows expression.
